It is incredibly important that an objects records are added to with additional interpretations that have been generated by museum staff and the public. This information should be recorded in an object file or database record so that it is accessible for future generations.
Where in these systems it is recorded may differ from organisation to organisation but a uniform approach within a museum will help ensure it can be accessed easily.
