In order to keep our collections relevant it is important that collection reviews take place. Reviews enable museums to discover new stories in their collections, rationalise collections and ensure the best use is made of objects.
In 2010 the Museums Association’s Museum Practice focused on this particular issue but in recent years museums are adding the public voice to collections reviews as well to ensure that the collections they hold truly represent the public who we hold them for.
