Accountability and what happens next

In this section, you have started to identify priority actions and next steps to take your anti-racism work forward. As we’ve explored throughout this module, working to dismantle racism is a long-term commitment. There is a lot of work to do.

In this final lesson, you will have space to consider what you need to put in place to develop your anti-racism work in the long-term. As we’ve explored, many museums have made commitments to anti-racism, but still need to turn words into action. The following exercises provide space to create accountability plans to support your work. The exercises offer suggestions on further training and development you could consider.

Your commitment to actively supporting anti-racism in museums could keep growing beyond completing this module. Here you have the space to consider what you need to put in place to ensure your work continues.

We recognise that accountability is needed at an individual level, as well as at an organisational and sector-wide level. The first exercise offers space to reflect on what accountability can mean for organisations.
